CST Utilities LLC is Hiring a HydroVac Operator Near Columbus, OH
We are seeking an experienced Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining a Hydrovac truck, as well as performing excavation services safely and efficiently. This position requires knowledge of the various components of the truck, as well as an understanding of safety protocols and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a CDL Class B driver's license, with Tanker endorsements clean driving record, and experience in operating heavy machinery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate Hydrovac equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-operation checks on the Hydrovac Equipment
- Maintain the Hydrovac equipment and ensure that it is in good working order.
- Complete paperwork associated with Hydrovac operations.
- Travel to and from job sites.
- Loads and unloads Hydrovac hose.
- Always maintain safe working habits/conditions.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Communicate with other members of the crew to ensure that the job is completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 2 plus years as an experienced HydroVac operator required.
- Class CDL B with tanker endorsements.
- A positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things in new ways.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus.
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed.
- A valid driver’s license and must be insurable.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen.
- Must be able and willing to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours, work outdoors, and in inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds.
- Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Must be able to operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing work.
- Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, and any applicable safety gear.
